Arqus Talent Scholarship in Europe 2024

The Arqus European University Alliance comprises nine renowned research universities from different European countries. These universities collaborate to offer academic and research opportunities, foster international cooperation, and promote student mobility and talent retention.

The Arqus Talent Scholarship is a prestigious scheme designed to attract and retain talented postgraduate students from across the globe. It provides full financial support, including a subsistence allowance, coverage of tuition fees, and additional allowances, to students pursuing Master’s or doctoral degrees at partner universities within the Arqus Alliance.

Eligible Programs

The scholarship is open to students applying for Master’s or doctoral programs at any of the nine partner universities within the Arqus Alliance. These universities include institutions from Poland, Spain, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, and Lithuania, offering a diverse range of academic disciplines and research opportunities. The member universities are:

  • University of Wrocław (Poland)
  • University of Granada (Spain)
  • University of Graz (Austria)
  • Leipzig University (Germany)
  • Maynooth University (Ireland)
  • University of Minho (Portugal)
  • University of Padua (Italy)
  • Vilnius University (Lithuania)

Program Period

The duration of the Arqus Talent Scholarship varies based on the level of study:

  • Master’s students: Up to the regular duration of the chosen Master’s program (maximum 12, 18, or 24 months)
  • Doctoral students: Up to a maximum of 36 months

Coverage

Successful applicants of the Arqus Talent Scholarship receive comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Subsistence allowance of €1,400.00 per month to cover living costs, medical insurance, and materials allowance
  • Coverage of tuition fees at the student’s entrance university
  • Special needs fund of €250.00 per month

Applicant Qualifications

To be eligible for the Arqus Talent Scholarship 2024, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and have a minimum overall/average grade of B according to the ECTS grading system
  • Demonstrate a clear idea of how a mobility at a second Arqus university can be integrated into their study program
  • Show active participation in Arqus activities and act as Arqus Ambassadors
  • Meet the admission requirements of the partner universities

How to Apply

Applying for the Arqus Talent Scholarship is a straightforward process:

  • Visit the scholarship application page on the Arqus website
  • Apply for a Master’s or PhD program at any one of the partner universities
  • Submit the scholarship application along with the required documents
  • Successful applicants will be required to actively participate in Arqus activities and act as Arqus Ambassadors within their two Arqus universities.

  • Confirmation of application to the entrance university
  • Motivation statement
  • PhD research proposal (doctoral students only)
  • BA/MA diploma/degree certificate
  • Transcript of records/diploma supplement
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Passport
  • Student with fewer opportunities (if applicable)
  • Language Certificate (merit)
