About the Organization: The Fulbright Program, state-owned and under the auspices of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, is one of the most prestigious programs, aimed at the spread of international educational exchange and mutual understanding. The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program has a unique lesson exchange program comprising of four months invited for the primary and secondary educators from the member countries to the U.S. to enhance their teaching methods. This program has a broader objective of stimulating cooperation, cultural integration, and the infusion of fresh training approaches.
Eligible Program
The program has full-time participation of the essential teaching and learning specialists, such as classroom teachers, guidance counselors, curriculum supervisors, and administrators. The participating countries are Bangladesh, Brazil, Botswana, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines, Senegal, Uganda, and other countries as determined by the U.S. Embassy or the Fulbright Commission.
Program Period
Selected educators from different parts of the world go through a four-month professional development and cultural immersion program in the United States. While in the program, participants do either individual or group research work, attend advanced classes either at the undergraduate or graduate level at a U.S. host university, or cooperate with U.S. colleagues from primary and secondary schools.
